The successful Capital Link's 13th Annual Greek Shipping Forum took place on 9 February 2023 at the Divani Caravel Hotel with many of the maritime industry's leaders honouring the event.
The Forum saw the first in person meeting since the pandemic and was honoured by the IMO secretary general, Kitack Lim, the International Chamber of Shipping chairman, Emanuele Grimaldi; the Intertanko chairman, Paolo d'Amico; the Intercargo chairman, Dimitrios Fafalios; the Bimco president, Sabrina Chao; the ECSA president, Philippos Philis. Greece was represented by Shipping and Island Policy minister, Ioannis Plakiotakis, MP Giorgos Koumoutsakos, the Union of Greek Shipowners president, Melina Travlos and many more.
Themis Vokos was recognised at the conference with the Capital Link Greek Shipping Leadership Award. Mr Vokos is the person who gave life to the Posidonia exhibition with a tremendous amount of personal sacrifice. He persisted and put Greece and Greek shipping on the map – promoting Greece as a leading maritime nation.
The Capital Link Greek Shipping Leadership Award was presented to Tsavliris brothers (Nicolas, George and Andreas) back in 2016 during an impressive ceremony.
Tsavliris Salvage supported the 2023 event for another year and was represented by George, Andreas, Claire and Alexandros Tsavliris.
